EU research projects

We have undertaken scientific research for a range of EU-funded projects for many years. That work supports the development of policy, decision-making and capacity building.

We are currently involved with over 50 projects, and we are the lead partner on a number of them. The funding is mainly via the FP6, FP7, INTERREG, COST, DG Health and Consumer Protection, EFF and EFSA programmes. Through these we are delivering our scientific expertise in fisheries, aquaculture and the marine environment.

We have established strong links with other European scientific institutions and universities, with which we collaborate on research and other studies. Many of our scientists chair and participate in a range of European bodies and Working Groups.
